Growing the Teachers of the Future
At Ormskirk West End Primary School, we are passionate about investing in the teachers of the future. We believe that high-quality teacher training is essential to developing confident, reflective and inspiring educators, and we are proud to play our part in supporting the next generation of the profession.
This year, we are delighted to welcome Miss Bolger, who is joining us for the academic year as our SCITT trainee teacher. Miss Bolger will be working alongside Miss Warrilow in Beech Class, developing her knowledge, skills and classroom practice through a sustained school-based placement.
We believe that trainee teachers benefit enormously from being part of a welcoming, supportive and ambitious school community. Our experienced staff share their expertise, model effective practice and provide opportunities for trainees to observe, reflect, practise and develop their own teaching.
We also work closely with Edge Hill University, welcoming PGCE students to school for shorter block placements throughout the year. These placements provide trainee teachers with valuable opportunities to experience life in a primary school, work alongside experienced practitioners and develop their understanding of teaching, learning and the wider responsibilities of the profession.
Our trainees are valued members of the West End team. They bring fresh ideas, enthusiasm and new perspectives, while our staff have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the next generation of teachers.
We are proud that our school can contribute to teacher development and to the wider education community. By opening our classrooms, sharing our practice and supporting aspiring teachers, we hope to help develop educators who will go on to make a positive difference to the lives of children in schools across the country.
Welcome to West End, Miss Bolger — we are delighted to have you as part of our team!
