Late/Absence Procedures
Attendance
It is well proven that regular, uninterrupted school attendance plays a major part in academic success, even short periods of absence can mean that a child's ability to keep up with school work will be significantly reduced. Friendship groups can also be affected by time away from school and this can be upsetting for children.
Attendance is a legal requirement and parents should not take leave during term time. “Every Day Counts”, so please respect this, making medical appointments out of school time wherever possible, as your child will have gaps in their education whenever they are absent. Only in the most exceptional circumstances can holidays during term time be requested and Mrs Currie will require to meet with you to discuss whether or not to authorise the leave.
If your child is off school you should contact the school office via email or a Seesaw message by 9.00am to tell us the reason for the absence.
