Governors
School governors form the largest volunteer group in the country.
They are people from all walks of life, who care about children's education
and are prepared to work as a team to support their school & local community.

Biographical Information | Phil is an experienced educator. He has worked in a variety of Primary Schools in Lancashire. He completed his initial teacher training at Edge Hill College in 1996 and completed a 2 year course (L.P.P.H.) to prepare for headship in June 2014. He has worked in a variety of Year groups and held a number of subject leadership responsibilities. Since retiring from playing rugby for Chorley RUFC, he has coached the Under 8's Tag Rugby Team; purchased a motorbike and completed numerous D.I.Y. projects. | |

As Literacy Governor, Mike meets with the subject leader & report his findings back to the committee. Mike is Chair of the Standards & Effectiveness Committee which meets termly to monitor and evaluate our pupil's progress and the quality of education the school provides. | |
Biographical Information | Mike is a Fire Officer for Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service, with over 14 years’ experience. Many years ago Mike attended West End Primary School as a pupil and his daughter also attended the school. Mike is a big sports fan and he is also a keen supporter of the ‘Friends’ committee | |

Biographical Information | Hi, I'm Jane and I'm a Mum & a Grandma! I love horses and am lucky to keep few at home on the farm. Before starting our farm I worked in primary education, specifically working with children with additional needs and English as a second language. I am passionate about children's learning and very much enjoyed working with them every day. At my last school I was fortunate to be a governor, which I really enjoyed. | |

Biographical Information | Kim currently works at Edge Hill University on European-funded projects working with small businesses in Lancashire. She has over twenty years experience championing consumer rights and environmental issues, both in Westminster and Brussels. Kim also trained as a fundraiser for YWCA in Oxford & previously served as a parent governor at Red Hill secondary school in the West Midlands until 2012. Interests include art and culture, ancient history, European film, and music, from Pet Shop Boys to Mozart. | |
